With over 38 years in the industry, RSS Hereford was the only choice for The Ice Cream Farm (formerly known as Cheshire Farm Ice Cream) to help them create what is considered to be the largest ice cream parlour in the world! Located within the grounds of the existing business in Cheshire, The Ice Cream Farm opened its doors this summer and offers 144 Napoli pans (5 litres) of over 50 different flavours of ice cream when at maximum capacity. Both the site and ice cream parlour design and build needed to accommodate up to a projected 9000 visitors a day, efficiently and safely.
Jonathan Fell, Managing Director of The Ice Cream Farm, knew he needed expert ice cream parlour design help to ensure the best customer flow possible to cope with these numbers. “We have always known of RSS Hereford over the 29 years we’ve been making ice cream” says Jonathan, “and have admired the quality and finish of their cabinets and installations”. Jonathan has spent the last 22 months working with Neil James, Managing Director of RSS Hereford, where their initial ice cream parlour designs were used to determine the size and shape of the actual new building that would house the parlour. “When I first met with Neil” Jonathan continues, “he showed a complete understanding of the scale of the project which is vast even by Italian standards”. Once construction had begun, RSS Hereford brought in their supply partners Rossetti Edizioni srl and their interior designers to find the perfect solution for the ice cream parlour. “RSS Hereford’s proven track record and experience was invaluable when working with the Italians” explains Jonathan, “Neil would liaise with the designers on my behalf to make sure I got what I needed. I could have cut out the middle man but I would have been less confident of the results”.
Every minute detail has been considered, incorporating customer flow friendly colour zones, branding, counter layouts, cabinets, ceiling design, lighting, flooring specification, furniture and soft play design and supply along with the best technology on offer. Jonathan concludes “the personal service I received from RSS Hereford has provided me with the confidence to sign off the order at the end of last year, knowing that the project will be completed to an exceptional high standard”.
RSS Hereford and their partner Rossetti have supplied seven 24 flavour Tower ice cream display cabinets along with the serving counters and back fittings to the Ice Cream Parlour and the Artisan Room. The Artisan Room is a new concept for The Ice Cream Farm which you can hire for parties or team building days. Here you can design and make your own individual ice cream using a Valmar Multi P combination ice cream machine, supplied by RSS, that is perfect for small or large scale production of flavours, sauces and ice cream.
