NewsWinter Newsletter 2009Corema Wins the Energy and Water Efficiency RaceAt the HOST exhibition in Milan this October, the Corema Euromix 60 pasteuriser won a challenge held by Italian equipment manufacturers to see who had the most energy and water efficient machines. The Euromix beat the closest rival by a whopping 30 minutes to heat up a full 60L to 85C and cool down to 4C thus saving loads of energy and water – let alone time. Amazingly, some of the machines in the race failed to reach the required low temperature and were therefore disqualified. The Corema Profigel 600 vertical batch freezer was pipped at the post into second place with regard to time but used less energy in total which would ultimately reduce your running costs. The winner would cost approximately twice the cost of the Corema equivalent so it would reduce your investment costs too! Corema Offer 2 Year WarrantyAs from January 2010, Corema will be offering a 2 year parts warranty on all their new equipment. This goes to show that Corema are happy to put their money where their mouth is with regards to the quality of their equipment. Customers will be required to have their equipment serviced at the end of the first year which will also help with hygiene and minimise breakdowns. Another good reason to buy Corema ice cream equipment! Cake DemoAt the beginning of October, Christmas came early at RSS with the annual Cake Demo Days. This is where our new customers come back to Hereford and get ideas of how to keep their businesses going through the winter months. New flavours for Christmas were also tasted including a stilton and port, mulled raspberry and chocolate orange. Other more traditional flavours like Christmas pudding, mince pie and stollen cake were also tested. Service ResultsI am very pleased to report that Paul Lewis our Technical Services Manager has been able to solve 69% of technical calls over the telephone in the months of September and October without resulting in a costly engineer’s bill to attend site. This is our highest result since monitoring began. The quicker problems can be resolved the faster you can get back up to speed and the happier the customer. Well done Paul and his team! Winners from the ICA Exhibition 2009
Congratulations to Richard and Sandra Kelly from Lickwid in Perth for a fantastic bronze medal for the Dairy Artisan Ice Cream Class held at the ICA Exhibition in Harrogate last month. This follows an earlier success this year at the Highland Show with their Dreamy Strawberry. The ice cream for both results was made in their Corema pasteuriser and batch freezer. Well done – you certainly have the recipe for success! Probably the Greatest Ice Cream Show in the World – Sigep 2010Every year towards the end of January the seaside town of Rimini on the Italian Eastern Riviera plays host to the World of Ice Cream Exhibition known as Sigep. Running from 23 – 27 January 2010, you will also find all suppliers of equipment and ingredients for patisserie and chocolate as well as ice cream. If you agree that there just couldn't be a better place to be in the depths of a British winter, then check out flights to Bologna or Rimini Airport and visit the Sigep website. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to AllI’m sure a lot of businesses will be glad to see the back of this year once and for all, however, ice cream has once again, proven to be the exception to the rule. Testament to your own endeavours and creativity, we are further reassured that a little extra effort with flavours and quality ingredients really can make all the difference. Encouragingly, this recession has certainly increased the number of budding entrepreneurs out there and more people seem to want to do something for themselves, including open ice cream parlours. We would like to thank all our customers for their continued and valued support, and to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. |
