Farmhouse Luxury Real Dairy Goat’s Milk Ice Cream

It was Warren Goff’s passion for ice cream that first made him consider diversifying into its production. What makes him a bit different from the typical dairy farmer is that he farms goats: his family have been involved in breeding prize-winning pedigree goats for over 40 years.

Because there were no other local goat farmers who had diversified into ice cream making, Warren was a pioneer. He did plenty of research to establish what consumers were looking for and how best to market to them. He also contacted RSS Hereford, whose experience with farmers such as Tom Wallis meant they had the expertise he needed. They offered advice on the best processing equipment and recipe formulations.

The support from RSS Hereford combined with Warren’s research and planning meant that when Farmhouse Luxury Real Dairy Goat’s Milk Ice Cream went on sale in 2004 it was an immediate success. Warren has over 36 different ice cream flavours, of which 16 are on sale at any one time.

Farmhouse Luxury Real Dairy Goat’s Milk Ice Cream is on sale at the farm’s shop. Warren also sells at farmers’ markets and supplies local shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants. But perhaps the most prestigious contract he’s won so far is to have the ice cream stocked in Harrods!
